ASSIGNMENT

A globally operating service company aims to achieve a major, global reorganization process. The aim was to migrate 80 country organizations into a global matrix organization with 12 regions.

Strategy

Andreas Tenkmann acted as business partner for the organizational development and the transition of the DACH region (one of 12 regions). As Managing Director HR and Labor Director, he managed all personnel changes and processes. His responsibilities included:

  • Accompanying department heads as ambassadors and partners in the change processes.
  • Consulting and accompanying department heads in the change processes.
  • Support and control of the organizational change process in the areas of marketing, IT, purchasing, finance, human resources and operations, by consulting and supporting the department heads, especially with regard to organizational development and information control.
  • Talent management to identify potential and successors, including filling new positions.
  • Management of co-determination processes, in particular with regard to information and consultation (supervisory board, group works councils, centralized and locally organized works councils).

RESULT

The former country organizations in Switzerland, Austria and Germany were successfully transferred to a DACH matrix organization based on the global business model (industries and services). Today, the organization thinks and acts trans-nationally and is integrated into the global reporting structure in the area of segments and services.
