ASSIGNMENT

A consulting bank for Germany, Austria and Switzerland was to be set up for the globally active auditing and consulting firm to ensure resource planning and capacity utilization control.

Strategy

As Director Resource Management DACH, Andreas Tenkmann managed the further development of the database into a professional, interactive tool for all of the company’s advisors. He changed the company’s workload and actively promoted managed talent.

His responsibilities also included:

  • IT Development: Development and continuous expansion of the resource management system in order to proactively monitor the advisors’ workload.
  • Digital HR applications: Development, roll-out and training of new tools to bundle decentralized information about employees and managers (project assignments, competencies, CV) and make it available centrally.
  • Provision of a capacity utilization forecast and variance reporting, visualization of knowledge and know-how gaps, as well as active deployment planning for major projects.
Development of training and qualification measures for bottleneck qualifications.

Result

The consulting firm transformed itself from regionally independent units into a company that, among other things, implements comprehensive SAP solutions across national borders and continents. Utilization is proactively managed weeks in advance and has increased by more than 10 percent overall.
